Armenian Council Experts Visit Kajaran and Meghri

by Armenian Council

On 22 May, experts from the Armenian Council visited the community of Kajaran in Armenia’s Syunik Province, and on 23 May they held meetings and discussions in Meghri.

During the visits, participants discussed regional and domestic political developments, the security situation, and issues related to the peace process.

The meetings provided participants with an opportunity to share their observations and concerns in an open discussion format and to receive responses from the experts.

At the same time, on 23 May, with authorization from Armenia’s National Security Service, a group of Armenian Council experts traveled along the entire Armenia–Iran border within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, covering approximately 42 kilometers from the Armenia–Nakhichevan border to the Armenia–Azerbaijan border.

The field visit followed the route of the former railway line, passing through tunnels and partially dilapidated sections of infrastructure. Its purpose was to gain first-hand insight into the situation on the border and the condition of the surrounding infrastructure.
