Samvel Meliksethyan

Since September 2024, he has served as an Associate Expert at the Applied Policy Research Institute (APRI), which has operated under the Armenian Council since December 2025.

He is the host of Russian-language political interview programs on Factor TV.

From 2014 to 2020, he was the editor of the Hamatext electronic journal, co-editing the publication with Karen Agekyan. He has worked as a translator and editor of numerous books and materials on Armenian history, including publications of the Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) Foundation. He is the author of multiple analytical articles on the political history of the Caucasus, demographic processes, the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and demographic dynamics during the period of the Russian Empire.

In 2015, he completed the Master’s program in Genocide Studies at Yerevan State University. In 2013, he graduated from Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don, Russian Federation, specializing in Political Science.

He has participated in several Armenian-Azerbaijani peacebuilding initiatives conducted in Track 2.0 and Track 1.5 formats.

His areas of expertise include the delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, regional connectivity, the demographic history of the region, the Armenian national movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the policies of the Russian Empire in the South Caucasus.

Samvel Meliksethyan was born on March 27, 1991, in the village of Teghut, Lori Province.
